IFLA Working Programme 12 - Landscapes for Cities, Settlements, and Territories

Goal: Promote the integration of landscape architecture into urban and regional planning, creating sustainable, resilient, and inclusive cities, settlements, and territories.

Impact: Enhance the quality of life in urban and rural areas, promote sustainable development, foster transportation and active mobility, and create resilient communities that can adapt to global challenges.

Director - Henry Crothers

Henry Crothers is a landscape architect and urban designer, and the founding director of Auckland-based practice, Landlab. His interest and and expertise lies in the design leadership of landscape-led public realm, urbanism and placemaking projects. Henry's design approach is informed by the rigorous exploration of the relationships between natural, social and built ecologies in the urban context. He has been involved in some of the most significant urban renewal, public realm transformation, transport infrastructure and placemaking projects in New Zealand.

 

Co-director - Marina Cervera Alonso de Medina

Marina is adjunct lecturer of the Department of Urbanism and Regional Planning UPC. Marina is the founder of her own Landscape and Urbanism Studio in Barcelona, NABLABCN Studio. She combines it with the task as Executive Committee Director of the International Biennial of Landscape Barcelona and as Coordinator of the Landscape Architecture Office at the Architects' Association of Catalonia (COAC).
