IFLA Nominating Committee
The IFLA Constitution and Bylaws adopted at the 2026 Virtual World Council established a new Nominating Committee responsible for identifying, vetting, and presenting a slate of qualified candidates for the IFLA Board of Directors to the World Council for endorsement and appointment.
The committee has now been elected and their work will commence in June 2026.

James Hayter
Immediate Past President of IFLA
James Hayter is regarded as one of Australia’s most respected design professionals in the fields of landscape architecture and urban design. His professional practice, Oxigen, completes approximately 100 projects each year including award winning projects of national and international profile. These projects have been featured in over 100 international publications. Oxigen’s work is published extensively in national and international journals and books. James is sought after as a speaker at international conferences and has this year contributed articles to the international journal of landscape architecture, Topos.
James is currently, and has been a member of, many design professional committees at a local, national and international scale. He is the Immediate Past President of IFLA. Locally, James often assists government in the assessment of development applications, including negotiation with proponents. He is called upon as an expert witness in the courts system.

Olatunji Adejumo
Tunji is a landscape architect, environmental planner, and natural resources analyst that appreciates people driven productive landscape schemes where expertise midwifes developmental initiatives through strategic planning that respects contextual bioregional resources.
Tunji has 44 years as practicing landscape architect and environmental consultant in Nigeria spanning site, urban and regional scales. The last 24 years shared in academics – he is a retired Professor of Landscape Architecture, University of Lagos. Tunji’s research interest is in the interface of cultural system and ecological system as a determinant of useful worldview principles relevant to culture sensitive spatiality

Carlos Jankllevich
Carlos is a Landscape Architect, Environmental Planner, academic and published author with over 30 years of professional and institutional leadership experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. Former President of IFLA Americas and current Director of the IFLA Food Systems & Agriculture Working Programme. Extensive experience in international collaboration, policy development, academic leadership and cross-cultural professional networks.

Peta-Maree Ashford
Peta‑Maree Ashford is a Principal Landscape Architect, Director, and Owner of Emerge Associates, with more than 20 years’ experience delivering complex urban, regional, and greenfield projects across Western Australia. Her work is grounded in design excellence and technical rigour, creating places that respond meaningfully to community, culture, and environment.
A dedicated leader within the profession, Peta‑Maree served on the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) National Board for five years, contributing to governance reform and the transition to a unified “One AILA” model. She is a Fellow and past National President of AILA, recognised for her advocacy and commitment to strengthening the profession. She also contributes to the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s EnviroDevelopment program, assessing sustainability outcomes across projects nationwide.
Peta‑Maree is a passionate mentor, supporting emerging landscape architects as they transition into practice. Her involvement with IFLA as a past delegate reflects her commitment to global collaboration and shared learning across diverse environments.
As a member of the IFLA Nominating Committee, she brings strong governance expertise, sound judgement, and a commitment to fostering diverse, capable leadership to advance the profession worldwide.

Pia Kuusiniemi
Pia is a Finnish landscape architect, co-founder and partner of Loci Landscape Architects Ltd, Helsinki. She has a long experience in landscape architecture practice, professional governance, international cooperation, association leadership and organisational development. International Delegate of the Finnish Association of Landscape Architects (MARK) and former President of MARK (2019–2025). Active in international professional networks including IFLA Europe and IFLA World.

Dima Zogheib
Dima is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Director of Landscape Architecture at Arup. She brings extensive international experience working at the intersection of landscape, climate, and cities. Her expertise spans urban resilience (cities and strategy), integrated planning (framework and design), landscape heritage (conservation and integrated development), urban greening (climate resilience and sustainable development. Over the course of her career, she has worked across 15+ countries globally, collaborating with public authorities, multilateral development banks, and international organisations on city strategies, green infrastructure, and resilience initiatives. Her experience spans both large scale strategic programmes and community focused projects, combining policy, design, and implementation.
She has led and contributed to a wide range of internationally recognised projects, including the Oman Botanic Garden, the Green Infrastructure and Open Space Masterplan for Thimphu (Bhutan), the environmental and economic feasibility of the Tirana Orbital Forest (Albania), the Agadir Green City Action Plan (Morocco), the Hrazdan Gorge and Lake Yerevan (Armenia), she developed resilience strategies for a number of cities globally through 100 Resilient Cities and the World Bank - including Amman, Athens, Thessaloniki, Byblos, and Tashkent.
Dima is also a published author, contributing to Landscape Architecture in the Arab Middle East (Routledge, 2025), where she explores landscape practice in arid ecologies. She contributes actively to global professional discourse through conferences, publications, and advisory roles.

Michalis Kalogiannakis
Michalis Kalogiannakis is an accomplished Rural and Surveying Engineer with extensive experience in surveying applications, land management, renovations, and real estate. He is distinguished by his leadership at both national and international levels, actively representing professionals in the field and promoting their continuous development and networking.
Matt Miller
Matt Miller is an association executive with more than two decades of leadership experience driving strategy, growth, and governance excellence across global organizations. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB), where he has strengthened organizational performance, advanced global engagement, and led governance modernization efforts to promote inclusive and effective leadership.
Previously, Matt held executive leadership roles including CEO of the American Welding Society and Chief Operating Officer at NACE International, where he led large, multi-functional teams, expanded international programs, and delivered significant membership growth.
A committed volunteer leader, Matt served as Chair of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE) Board of Directors (2025) and Chair of the CESSE Nominating Committee (2026). He has also contributed to IFLA through its Corporate Governance and Professional Standards workgroups.
Matt holds graduate degrees in nonprofit management and instructional technology.
Mona Rady
Mona’s leadership background is rooted in the governance of complex, global professional networks. As the Former Chairperson of the UN-HABITAT Professional Forum (HPF), she coordinated a coalition of 28 major international organizations, ensuring a unified voice for the built environment professions within the UN system. Currently, as Chair of the World Urban Campaign (WUC) Professionals PCG, she leads a global network representing over 150 unique organizations and nearly two million individual professionals. These roles have required a sophisticated understanding of institutional diplomacy and the ability to identify leaders who can bridge the gap between technical expertise and global policy.
