Call for nominations - IFLA Board of Directors
This is the most consequential call IFLA has issued in a generation. The individuals appointed to the new Board of Directors will shape the governance, strategy, and direction of the global landscape architecture profession for years to come. We urge all associations and delegates to engage actively with this process and nominate strong candidates, encourage excellence, and make this opportunity count.
Following the adoption of the new IFLA Constitution and Bylaws at the 2026 Virtual World Council and the constitution of the IFLA Nominating Committee in May 2026, the Nominating Committee now invites nominations for all open positions on the inaugural IFLA Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors replaces the previous Executive Committee as IFLA's strategic leadership body. It is composed of up to twelve members and is chaired by the President. It meets quarterly and is accountable to the World Council. A smaller Executive Committee of four officers handles day-to-day operations and reports monthly to the Board.
This is a transitional cycle. In all future cycles, only the President-Elect position will be filled annually. For this inaugural cycle, the President-Elect and President are both being appointed simultaneously.
Positions are:
President
President-Elect
Treasurer
Regional Director (×5 — one per Region)
Director-at-Large (up to ×3)
