Call for nominations - IFLA Standing Committee Chair on Education and Academic Affairs

IFLA has reopened World Level elections for:

  • IFLA Standing Committee Chair on Education and Academic Affairs

Following the first call held 3 March - 12 April 2022 we received no eligible nominations and so , in accordance with our by laws section 4.1.6. ‘Where there are no nominations made this process must be repeated until an eligible nomination has been secured’ we have re-opened the call for nominations.

The call for nomination opens 22 April and closes on 12 May at 19.00 (Brussels Time, Central European Time Zone).

In accordance with IFLA's Constitution, Section 5, and the By-Laws and Rules of Procedures, Section 4, an election is to be held for the above offices for the period beginning immediately after the World Council Meeting 2022 and ending immediately after the World Council Meeting 2024.

An IFLA Delegate or IFLA ExCo Officer may submit up to two nominations for each office. Before doing this they should consult with and consider the views of their association and former delegates.

Please, note that no candidate may stand for two world offices at the same time. Nominees must select only one office, if nominated for more than one.

Each Delegate or ExCo Officer making a nomination must first secure written consent from the nominee that, if nominated, will agree to stand for such office. The written consent form must be submitted by the Delegate or ExCo Officer making a nomination along with the signed nomination form as well as a maximum of 500-word written manifesto, a current brief biography, and a passport photo of the nominee.

The Nomination Form, Written Consent Form, 500-word manifesto, brief biography, and passport photo must be submitted to IFLA’s Executive Secretary via email (admin@iflaworld.org) by 12 May 2022 by 19.00 (Brussels Time). Nominations submitted after the due date or submitted uncompleted will be considered invalid.

After the call for nominations closes, a validated list of nominees will be circulated to IFLA membership by 15 May 2022. The eligible nominees will transit to the second stage of the elections, which will happen in the form of electronic voting from 31 May 2022 to 30 June 2022.
