In 2020 elections were held for the following positions within the IFLA Executive Committee

  • IFLA Treasurer

  • IFLA Standing Committee Chair on Communications and External Relations

  • IFLA Standing Committee Chair on Education and Academic Affairs

  • IFLA Standing Committee Chair on Professional Practice and Policy

At the recent 2020 World Council the results of the election were recently scrutinised and confirmed as

From an electorate size of 85 eligible votes, 68 votes were cast, which represented 80.0% of votes. The results were as follows:


President results:

James Hayter was elected for a second term for the role of President, which will initiate right after the 2020 World Council.


Treasurer results:

Jeremy Dennis was elected for a second term for the role of Treasurer, which will initiate on the 1st of January 2021.


Standing Committee Chair for Communications and External Relations:

Monica Pallares was elected for a second term for the role of Standing Committee Chair on Communications and External Relations, which will initiate right after the 2020 World Council.

Standing Committee Chair for Education and Academic Affairs results:

Salma Samaha was elected for a second term for the role of Standing Committee Chair Chair on Education and Academic Affairs, which will initiate right after the 2020 World Council.

Standing Committee Chair for Professional Practice and Policy results:

Colleen Mercer Clarke has won the elections for the role of Standing Committee Chair on Professional Practice and Policy, which will initiate right after the 2020 World Council.
